Short History of Misungwi Community Development Technical Training Institute (CDTTI) – Mwanza

Misungwi Community Development Technical Training Institute (CDTTI) is a government-owned technical training institution located in Misungwi District, Mwanza Region, approximately 45 kilometers south of Mwanza City. The institute was established in 1982 under Act No. 10 of 1980 to provide technical and community development education aimed at producing skilled professionals who can contribute to national development. The institute operates under the Ministry responsible for Community Development and is fully registered and accredited by the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) with registration number REG/EOS/015. It received full registration in 2008 and has continued to expand its academic and technical training programs. (NACTVET)

Since its establishment, Misungwi CDTTI has played a significant role in developing middle-level technical manpower in Tanzania through training in engineering and community development disciplines. The institute currently offers programs in Civil Engineering with Community Development and Water Engineering with Community Development from Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4) to Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6), alongside various short courses in ICT and technical skills.
